Team Bonding Time:  1 minute / participant


Goals: To get participants to share things so they get more comfortable talking to each other


Exercise Description:  Facilitator indicates that he has dice and depending on what number they roll, selected participants will be called on to answer a question like the six below:

1:  If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?

2:  If you could meet a famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you like to ask them and why?

3:  What are you really good at?

4:  What is the strangest food you have ever eaten

5:  In your spare time you like to…..

6:  Show us your happy dance (and then everyone else has to copy it)


Reflection:  Who surprised you in a pleasant way?

Team Bonding Time: 5 minutes


Goals:  To find what we have in common and how participants are different


Exercise Description:  Develop a five by five square with items that are appropriate for group.  Share your screen and see how many participants can link five squared together.  Participants use the annotate feature when you share your screen using a unique annotation (heart, star, or their initials etc.) to identify themselves.


Reflection:  Was is hard to reveal things about yourself and why?  How do you get comfortable with someone?  Were you surprised at how much you had in common with other members of the group?

Dance Off

Team Bonding Time: 1 minute per round


Goals:  Get people moving and shake out the cobwebs.


Exercise Description:  Two or three people at a time will have a dance off.  A random generator will pick a song and the two or three contestants will give us their best dance moves and the rest of the group will vote on their favorite.  Extra points for style and interpretation of the music.

Goals:  To challenge people to be resourceful & creative


Exercise Description:  The facilitator will request that participants gather up items or proxies for items from their workstation or home -office setting.  Then participants will need to blend the items together to create a message that the group will try to guess.


Reflection:  How did you interrupt the rules/constraints?

Goals: Get people to work together


Exercise Description:  Small teams will work together to answer custom trivia related to subjects that company decides ahead of time.  Before each question, they will wager something real and the team with the highest total wins.


Reflection:  How did groups deal with reconciling differing answers?  How did wagering or consequences affect behavior?  Who were the risk takers vs. risk adverse participants?

Goals:  To Show How Group 

Dynamics Affect a Group’s Outcome


Exercise Description:  Aliens are Coming To Earth.  Before they arrive, your team has been charged with coming up with items to represent what life is like on Earth.  Each of you will have a chance to select something that represents life on earth to an alien society that does not understand our slang, nuances or language.  Each person has to describe and justify why their item is a good representation of life on earth and the group will vote on the top five items.


Reflection:  How did people make compelling arguments for their item?  Which people were literal and which were more creative with their suggestions?  What constructive arguments did they make?  What actions were not productive to coming to group decision.
